"Canada Cuts" for Gilda's Club
In 2007, the founder of "Canada Cuts", Neil Little owner of Shear Madness Hair Salon decided that it would be good idea to get involved in his community. He wasn't satisfied in doing a small thing. Instead he started the Cuts for Gilda Campaign involving many hair stylists throughout Barrie, and later expanding throughout Central Ontario. The Canada Cuts for Gilda's Club fundraiser is now hosted by local Hair Stylists that care for their community. Dozens of beauty specialists come together to perform their magic on hundreds of customers in support of Gilda's Club. As a result of their support and efforts, thousands of dollars per year have been donated to Gilda's Clubs.
"Canada Cuts" Family Fun Day & Charity BBQ
Neil discovered, over the years, that in our world help is available for families or individuals that are suffering from a life storm. Most of that help is free or can be had at a minimal cost! The biggest concern is not the amount of emotional, financial, or physical help that is available but the “lack of awareness” as to what is available, who to talk to and where to go to get that help! The Family Fun Day and Charity BBQ provides a place where families and individuals can come together in a "park like" fun setting for one day under one roof, “the sky”, to get all the information they may need, complete with a BBQ, entertainment, guest speakers and more. This event was new in 2017 it too has carried on and grown as the "Cuts for Gilda" event has grown.
